MICROCEMENT
At Chillart we may not offer Microcement but we do offer Polished Concrete which is of higher quality on many aspects.
Smoothed Microcement is a material dyed in its paste. It is used with 2mm of thickness and does not contain silicon which make the material resistance less. However, it has chemical resins as opposed to Polished Concrete.
The differences between Microcement and Chillart Polished Concrete are as follow:
- Resistance: Microcement: bad resistance and risk of fissures, Chillart Polished Concrete: has antifissure guarantee.
- Color: Microcement: Depigmentation or color fading away, Chillart Polished Concrete: natural pigments.
- Security and application norms(DTU/CSTB): Microcement: no DTU, Chillart Polished Concrete: 4 mm min.
- Thickness: Microcement: 2 mm max. Chillart Polished Concrete: 4mm min.
- Materials: Microcement: has chemical resins, epoxy and many others, Silicon- less(resistance), Chillart Polished Concrete: has only mineral materials(pigments, silicone, cement, Norm ISO 9001)
- Finishing:Microcement: smoothed aspect with no shine and depth, Chillart Polished Concrete: variety of finishings(mat/satin/shiny): The mineral pigments offer the possibility of various effects( rustic, modern and smooth).
