SMOOTH FINISH CEMENT or known as MICROCEMENT
The mechanical capacities of cement in concrete and mortar form have earned it a predominant place in construction. Twenty-five years of research into its composition and application have allowed Marius Aurenti to formulate new and exceptionally pure materials. Two revolutionary mortars have opened new paths in the world of decoration. They include smooth finish mortar, a material that gives colour to floors and walls both inside and out, and self-levelling mortar, a material that asserts the modern and mineral character of interior floors. These materials to be touched and worked transform space by creating sober atmospheres that convey both strength and softness.
Formulated from selected cements, fine sands, resins, additives and natural pigments, this highly resistant mineral material is applied in two fine coats with a total thickness of two millimetres. Flexible to work with and waterproof, it has excellent adhesive qualities, allowing a wide variety of applications. The numerous combinations of colours and effects make smooth finish mortar a product capable of expressing all your decorative desires.
The work of the first coat determines the material effects of the floor: fromvery uniform to highly contrasted.
KITCHENS
A decorative element in its own right, and open to the rest of the house, a kitchen should not suffer fromthe activities carried out in it.
The warmth of fire, water, the chemical behaviour of foods and the abrasion caused by cleaning products are all testing factors for materials. FLOORS
Smooth finish mortar is applied on the floor, on slabs, a new layer of screed or old tiling. It produces a coating soft to touch, hardwearing, and with no expansion joints (other than those of the original support).
Finishes with wax, or matt, satin or gloss paint protect the material and make it easy to maintain.
BATHROOMS
Waterproof by nature, Chillart’s smooth finish mortar adapts to damp environments.
Basins can be covered with colours such as caramel, almond green, bare concrete, etc.
The craftsmen create bathtubs and showers without trays, Italian style. The furniture merges with the colour of the wall and bathroom users can step on mortar worked with a sponge to ensure their feet do not slip.
OBJECTS
Whether for sinks, flower stands, coffee tables or shelves, the adhesive capacity of smooth finish mortar ensures that it can even stick to very smooth ceramic and glass surfaces.
The applier chooses a sponge to attenuate the material effects and bring out the natural grain of the mortar. Using a finishing trowel or an American knife, he will leave a mark matching the movement of his hand.
Thus old objects change their nature to become more modern or, on the contrary, a new piece of furniture can be made to appear antique.
